In response to the 2017 and 2018 fires, PG&E recently received approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), for the implementation of a program designed to reduce the risk from wildfires as a result of PG&E equipment. PG&E has reached out to the first responder community to advise us of this new plan, and to begin preparations that would allow our public agencies and communities to mitigate the impacts of areas that may have power shut off as a preventative method to reduce the liklihood of fire ignition.
Recently the Southern Marin Fire District conducted a presentation to the Sausalito Business Community about the PG&E plan. You can view the full presentation at this link: https://youtu.be/aamEFPbuXvU. We have also attached the slide presentation below for additional information and to assist in individuals making preparations.
The Southern Marin FIre District encourages home owners to learn about PG&E's plan, and to take steps to prepare in the event that our area could be impacted by these shutoffs.
